Tell It Slant
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Caught between a forgotten friend and unseen threats, you must find the angle where the lies you’re told start to reflect the truth.
But do not fear. If you fail, we can start again from the beginning.
Tell It Slant is an intimate and layered parable exploring friendship, grief, and what is left behind when power is traded for belonging.

What an AMAZING game. From the Art and UI to the voices and the writing. Everything was wonderful. The game also really allowed me to reflect on myself which is ALWAYS what I want from a video game. If you are thinking about whether to download and play this game or not, do it!
Thank you so very much, both for the incredibly kind words and for streaming it, as well! 💚 Appreciate you!!
This narrative really pulled me in :> It was so interesting to see a fully esoteric and poetic approach to the story design~ <3
I'm so happy you enjoyed it! 💚 Thank you for the very kind words!
It's soooo good! The voice acting gets you into the game so quick, literally the first line already gives goosebumps. The story is chilling and ohhh i love when it gets to the climax, loved every moment of it! Felt like playing a solo ttrpg
Thank you so, so much for your kind comments and review--we really appreciate your support! 💚
“The first thing you notice is the cold: a clammy, clinging damp, a shadow left out in the rain and now draped over your shoulders, dripping down your arms, chill breath stirring at the back of your neck.”
Tell It Slant is a beautifully written game that completely succeeds at building its atmosphere. The music, ambience, voice acting, writing, and art all blend seamlessly to perfectly tell a melancholy and haunting tale.
Burdock was one of my favorite games from last year’s jam, so I was excited to see that Butterfly Rocket wrote for this game in this year’s jam - and they did not disappoint. Well done to this whole team, fantastic work!
Thank you so very much! 💚 I love your games as well--all the very coziest of comfort-spooks.
The prose is so beautiful ~ I greatly enjoyed the atmosphere created by the color palette, gorgeous art & music and writing. What a treat.
Thank you so much! 💚
The writing, voice acting, sound design, and art direction is one of the best I've seen in a while when it comes to a game + visual novel. The atmosphere created is this game is so good, making each scenario so engaging that I kept making sure to check around for different interactions between characters. Great job to everyone who worked on this game, it was executed so well. <3
Oh gosh, thank you so much for the kind words! 💚 Really was a special experience working with this team; I'm so glad you enjoyed playing it!
The game is stunning, amazingly done work from everyone involved
Thank you so, so much! It was a delight to create, and we're so happy to share it now! 💜
Holy crap! You're kidding! I saw Phantom Echoes and was like, "OKAY... This is the one!" The art, and not one, but two crazy skilled composers?? What a crew lineup!
I haven't played yet, but I sure as heck am gonna, very excited :)
Thank you so much!!
