Thank you - and congrats to Spooktober 2024's Best Voice Actor, our very own CobaltKobold!

Hooooooly cats, these last two months have been a wild ride!

First of all, major thanks to each and every one of you who have downloaded and played Tell It Slant! ✨

Your thoughtful comments and kind support have been an ongoing source of joy for our whole team throughout this Spooktober, and we are enormously grateful to each and every one of you for taking the time to explore this weird little world we created in a month. 💜 Thank you! A final update featuring some additional artwork and sound effects will be released sometime in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that, as well!

Next up: congrats to CobaltKobold, Narrator extraordinaire and official winner of the Spooktober 2024 Best Voice Actor category!! 🎉

Working with Cobalt has been an absolute delight, and anyone playing the game will have a very good idea of not only the challenging nature, but the sheer volume of the work he put in. Not only is his voice remarkable, but his talent, professionalism, and absolute charm as a person have the whole team cheering this as a well-deserved win and recognition--congratulations again, Cobalt! Cobalt's Narrator is also in stellar company with the phenomenal Vanessa Benoit and Chase Via, both of whom are equally treasured and talented pillars of the game's crew. The trio proved a dream team, landing Tell It Slant the #3 slot in the community-ranked Voice Acting category!

Additionally, our rockstar UI duo's work was recognized with a nomination for Best GUI!

Every jam project comes with a fair share of hiccups and hurdles in production, and Tell It Slant was no exception. Would you believe that Remnantation was pulled onboard with just over a week left in the jam? And after Rem whipped together the beautiful design with just days to spare, UI programmer Windchimes not only implemented it, but also added in the animations and transitions that make it shine--all the while working on the main code for another jam game as well? I still have trouble believing it even after watching it all unfold firsthand, and I am incredibly glad their remarkable work has received recognition!

It's difficult not to continue singing the praises of every member of this team--Jessey's superhuman work in bringing not only the characters to life with such expressiveness and vibrancy, but also the backgrounds! Senaeris' moody and atmospheric original soundscapes and musical compositions, which set the tone of the world from the start of the game! Vronfrog's beautiful logo design and interstitial playing cards! Tanix, who saved me from my own coding ignorance with timely and much-needed advice! And who can forget our terrific leader EeeCee, whose vision set it all in motion? Jamtastrophes and all, I wouldn't trade this experience for the world, and I'm grateful to the team for all their work, and for all that I've learned from them along the way.

Finally, for those interested in some of the other absolutely fantastic Spooktober 2024 entries--Grand Prize Winner Spirit Driver among them!--my lovely partner MisterShins spent the month streaming some of my favorite entries, followed by live interviews with the developers of each game! ✨

The VOD playlist can be found here! In addition to Tell It Slant and Spirit Driver, there are streams and interviews for Sunk, A Witch is Getting Married, Exposure, The Stars Under Lockehurst, and Paddy Makes BreakfastStill to come will be Witchlight Woods and Nine to Five(am).

Whew, I'll wrap up the victory lap here--thank you all again and again for your kind support!

B.
